General High mpg on a Hgt!

My Hgt is absolute dog poo on petrol!!! I'm running currently 28.8 mpg on average! Even on a good run down to brooklands I managed to get 34! Is this normal? I know I've got a slight heavy foot but I've been keepin it up and taking it easy and still struggle to get more than 29!

i have noticed my HGT is drinking juice. The mileometer usually says around 46.6 even when booting it, but only getting like 100 miles on £20 of fuel

A full tank will last me about 220 miles roughly! Hate the fuel on this

thats normal, i bet you doing the same speeds you did in the 1.2 as well.

Ye but in general I take it a little slower now ( that accidents made me slow down a lot!)

doesnt help fuel is so expensive these days, my hgt is doing mid 30s generally, but seeing as I had a 1.8 alfa 146 a while ago that wouldnt even do that, I think of it as a bonus.

Do miss the mid 50s mpg from my punto sporting though, so I`ll be going back to 1.2 at some point, but sportings arent quite as much fun as the hgt.

Mk2b 1.4 is the answer, nice compromise between power & economy.
