A while back I bought Dr O’s green filter and as the weather was pants today (so couldn’t go driving) decided to fit it (my first mistake).
To begin with all went well, not too many rusty bolts but I think that the head is leaking from under the manifold, discovered that the heat shield on the exhaust has had it, found a very rusty battery tray and the rad is not looking too healthy ……the ‘to do’ list just keeps growing!
Step 1 – remove all the FIAT plastic
Step 2 – fit heat reducing exhaust wrap
Step 3 – fit induction filter
While it looks OK in the piccies its a very Heath Robinson fitting (I had to use gaffer tape and a hollowed baked beans tin (honestly)), and here’s where I need the help. Has anyone fitted the Green induction kit for car’s with the Air Flow Meter? If so what does the kit contain?
The issue is that the throttle housing and all induction hoses are 70mm but the AFM is 85mm, this means that I need additional couplers and reducers.
I priced up the elbows and reducers that I need on the net to finish the job and am looking at about £100 of pipes etc – or I could buy the Green kit at £120 (claims to include all of the parts needed to fit it), but I don’t want to buy it if I still need to purchase additional induction pipes etc………
Sorry for the long posting but ANY help and advice is gratefully received………..
