Hi Mats P,

Welcome to the forum.

To answer your question I suggest 2.7ltr minimum. That is what I would use. See attached exrract from Fiat eLearn for the x244 model.

There have been several discussions as to oil capacity of the MLGU gearbox. I think that Fiat raised there recommendation to 3.0ltr. Possibly this was an attempt to reduce fifth gear failures. Fifth gear is only splash lubricated from the main box. The advice that I try to follow, and repeat is that if the vehicle has been standing for a prolonged periob (2 days or more), do not engage fifth gear for the first 2km.

Hej Mats P,

Tack!
My gearbox is a 814043S, is it still 2,7 l??

Engine is 8140.43s, otherwise known as 2.8jtd. Gearbox is MLGU. 3.0 litres maximum, but handbook does mention 2.7 litres.
Oil SAE 75w/80 API GL4. GL5 oil has been recommended, but this has higher levels of phosphorus based additives, which can cause problems with the bronze sychroniser components in gearboxes.

Ok, thank you. What oil do you rekommend?
