As I was driving, my gear stick suddenly started wobbling around as if it wasn't attached to anything. After taking it into the garage, they said the problem is 'impossible to diagnose' as the way Fiat Punto Evos are built, the gear linkage is all hidden away?? Apparently I need to replace the entire gear stick with the linkages.
I have been searching for nearly a month with no luck. Can anyone tell me if they think it will still be possible to find a Fiat Punto 2010 gear stick with linkages anywhere? And where I should be looking?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I’m fairly certain you’d just need to replace the broken cable.

With older puntos you’d just unscrew the bottom of the gear selector unclip the cable that end then unclip it from the gearbox end then put the new cable in. With the evo/grande cars I think you might have to take out the centre console and unbolt the selector from the floor to get to it.

There is a Haynes manual for the grande/evo which I believe covers it.

A few years back you could only get cables from fiat but I think you can get them fairly cheaply now on eBay
