OK I've read the threads on it but its never very conclusive.
I need to uprate my fuel pump as I had my car at rolling road to try and set it up and well 1bar fuel pressure and 1bar boost = no fuel, even with my MF2 set to 100% max which is 80% duty cycle it was dangerously lean, which is not good turbo owners take note, the guy who I was working with on this (http://www.tts-performance.co.uk/tts.shtml) thinks that the VAD set up at 0.6bar is really at the max the standard pump can cope with as the MF2 can only run an injector from 20-80% duty cycle and as its a light green Bosch injector it flows 400cc at 3bar, so much less on 1bar.
Fortunately with the pressure regulator built into the original throttle body it will regulate its self back to the 1.2bar I'll be setting it at at overcome the boost, and uprate flow as the Lambda and ECU will ensure thats OK.
I know that the punto 75/85/90 pump is the same pump and the centre can be removed and then used to replace the centre section on Cinq pump to uprate it, but is the Sei MPi pump a direct drop in to a Cinq pump as I don't see any difference in fuel tanks?
Reason I ask is that I am going to buy a new pump as its then a know quantity so fit it and leave, unlike a 2nd hand unit which may have covered huge miles and then have problems, seems to be lots of pumps listed on ebay for puntos and shop4parts only list punto pumps which leads me to think they fail more often than other pumps. I'll probably go for a Bosch one as I can get those direct from Bosch for employee prices through a friend though I can't find any Bosch part numbers that he needs to order it with, so some searching of net is in order me thinks.
PS TTS had a Lotus Exige with a type R engine supercharged fitted running 430bhp when i was there was a very impressive conversion, oh and some 1600cc V-twin motorbike that was also supercharged.
Aaron.
