I've recently bought a 1999 Bravo 115 HLX which is overdue a good service. Do you think this will cure it's notable flat-spot or should I be looking elsewhere?

Thanks

errr, no. As in the engine. It seems to be at the beginning of the rev range. And I've noticed if I give the accelerator a sharp tap, the rev's dip initially before rising.

im having the same problem with my 1999 115 hlx around 2000 rpm put your foot down and nothing.

i found my 1.8 sluggish below 3000rpm, but that is what i expected. i would not expect it to pull at 2000rpm unless someone has sneakily installed a turbo diesel without telling you.

the solution is to select a more appropriate gear to raise your rpm when you need to accelerate. same applies to any car.
