So, after impulse buying an Eos 10D on ebay the other night it finally came today..

Have to say couldn't be happier after upgrading from a bridge camera (fuji S6500) - could not reccommend a better starting camera tbh .

I've only got one decent pic from this afternoons messing that i'd like to share - any C&C appreciated :D

Cheers for that!

Had a bit more of a practice and found a hack for the lens i've got, effectively converting it into a macro lens!!

Only done basic tests so far but it seems like its got some immense possiblities, and all for £0 :D

Well basically the lens I bought for it, a 10 year old canon ef 35-80mm, has a well documented hack. If you take off the front piece of plastic, the front focusing element pops out, reducing the focal length significantly...which you can then use to take pictures like the two above.

When your done, you just pop the front lens back on and away you go again!

Only downside is it means you cannot focus at all, meaning the only way to do so is to move the camera back and forth from the object until its in focus!
