I am inthe North East and my 20VT needs a bit of work, or I may need some advice. Does anybody know of any decent mechanics around this area. Bihop Auckland Area would be even beter. Just today it is sounding like it has developed a problem and sounds like there is a plug off. I have been advised to swap the plugs and put some nosche one in, are these widely available and stock items at say Halfords or are these specialist itemsinternet purchases.

Any other ideas on this matter gtreatly appreciated.

If it's missing on one cylinder it could be a coilpack. It's not unusual for these to go on the 20Vs. You can disconnect them one-by-one and see if one of them makes no difference being disconnected.
If you have any work that needs doing, it might be worth going to MotorMech in Birmingham. It's a fair way to go but they know Coupes inside out, are well priced, and make a decent cup of coffee!

Hi, I'm from Newton Aycliffe.

You want to try B.M.C (Bluebell Motor Company) in Aycliffe (about 6miles from bishop) as its a Fiat / Alfa / Lancia Specialist and their prices are very reasonable (£325 for a full timing belt and tensioner replacement on my Alfa 2.0L TwinSpark). They always seem to have a lot of Coupes and Alfa's in there and the odd one or two Delta Intergralle's :D

take each lead off and touch it against the head and see if there sparking 1st,could be a duff ht lead,or plug

are their any lights on on the dash which are not normally?

Er.... Do not under any circumstances earth a plug lead without wearing thick rubber gloves. The shock you can get from the ignition system is very high!!!
On 20VT's, the coil is built into the lead and are a common failure on them. It can also be an injector fault as well, but this should put your engine light on the dash when running. Might just be a plug gone down. Halfords will sell them yes. You do not say whether it is at idle or when reving?? Does it all the time or just when hot or on restart when warm??

Andy.
