Yeah, I knew several manufacturers used modified versions of the Fiat 1.3 and 1.9 multijet engines.
I think the 1.9 they shared was a joint project.Yeah, I knew several manufacturers used modified versions of the Fiat 1.3 and 1.9 multijet engines.
Yep, they were cool ? . In hindsight never saw one without a panel out of line.... I am a designer, must have heartbreaking to work where the workforce did not give a s#My favourite Rover was the SD1. I know there are lots of reasons why it wasn't a great car (much of those were quality related). But I just love that shape. As a police car it was unbelievably cool. I tried to persuade my parents to get one but they got a Sierra instead.

The Vitesse was the one I wanted them to get. I remember seeing one in the showroom. They went for the far more sensible (and likely more reliable) Ford Sierra 2 litre Ghia. The latter was one of the first cars with a focus on optimum interior ergonomics.3500 Vitesse.
Don't doubt next generation Panda will have a new engine one day. Current shape? No. The Fire engine will keep going am sure. A 3 cylinder 100bhp would be great in a new Panda 4x4 though.
Was the N/A TwinAir a popular choice though? If it wasn't popular, then they may have just dropped it due to lack of demand.
