Well my 2007 Grande Punto 1.2 8v is just about to clock up 150,000 miles.
It still runs well, but unfortunately rust has just eaten through the engine sump. In order to replace the sump I assume that I'll have to move the exhaust out of the way (it still has all the original exhaust!), I thought rather than remove the manifold, it would be easier to disconnect the flange connection just below the catalytic converter. Am I correct in assuming the flange is held together with two studs and nuts? If this is so then the nuts have rusted away making it impossible to remove what is left of the nuts from the studs. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
Thanking you in anticipation,
Tom.
