General Exhaust fumes thru front airvent

I have a 54 reg Punto 1.2 8v and have just replaced the exhaust mid and backbox as it was blowing at the backbox. Mileage is 25k and car was warranty serviced a couple of weeks ago.
When idling in traffic and parked stationary on the drive there is a noticable smell of exhaust fumes thru the front vents.
Has anyone else had this problem, could it be the emission system? are they any good on these cars? Or could it be an engine problem?

if it didn't do this before the exhaust fix, then I dont think the exhaust fix is a complete success, or someone REALLY doesn't like you, drive with the windows cracked so the CO doesn't get you (thats CO, not CO2) !

mine did this, the downpipe was cracked, amd took the cat with it.

My mates punto did that after she had a new exaust.... Turns out that some places use like plastic selant to join it all 2gether and it wasnt sealed totaly..
She took it back, and they sorted it out!
Id just go back and get them to have a look at it...

This was happening before the exhaust fix as I noticed the hole in the backbox was at the front thence blowing fumes to the front of car which were getting sucked into the air vents. Obviously I was wrong on this diagnosis as it is still happening. I thought the new exhaust would be the solution. I hope it isn't the downpipe.
