Hi
Can anyone tell me if the electromagnetic clutch on the MK1 Punto Selecta is energised all of the time, regardless of gear lever, break or accelerator positions?
I have a problem with my clutch and have put a voltmeter across the supply to the clutch brushes and it give a ~13 volt reading all of the time when the engine was running? Is this meant to happen? Could this mean the gearbox, ECU or multifunction switch has failed?
I've tried running the engine and just putting 12 volts across the brushes and the clutch still wont engage - does this mean that the clutch is likely to have failed?
Many Thanks
James
