Technical ECU leads

This may have already been answered but i'm wondering what ECU leads are best for use with fiat ecu scan? Can I use a generic OBD2 reader or are there any specific ones which are best for the GP

I use an Elm 327 lead to connect my GP upto Fiat ECU Scan and other software and not had any issues with it.

If its actually Fiat ECU Scan your going to be using, have a look at THIS list as it tells you what the best cable would be depending on what ECU you have.

For the GP you only really need an ELM327 (but make it a decent one, unless you want to get a soldering iron out), the yellow adaptor cable and a full software license.
You won't need the red and green adaptors or a KKL interface unless you plan on covering other cars too.
