Don't bother with soldering. Use them plastic connectors which tap into an existing wire. Much easier and safer.

yeh have a look at my pics on page 2! exactly what I used! there good for this but thats about it. so once you use them dont get into a habbit of using them for everything. NEVER use them in the engine bay or anywhere there is damp as they corrode like **** and make a right mess of wires.
:woot:Rubbish, I've got them in the Engine bay of the Panda (just behind the grille for the spot's wiring also) and never had any problems.

lucky! did you tape them up to make then abit more waterproof?
some plonk used them on my bike for the indicators. I found this out when they where playing up. so I removed them to find they had caused the copper for about 2inchs either way of the connection to rot away

No not taped, but now you mention it, not linked to the skotch locks, but corroded copper wires under the bonnet ring a bell, but that was through another bodge

scotch locks arent good enough imo, yes its a quick and easy way to do it, but it doesnt last half as long as twist and tape.

I really hide my wiring in tight area's, if I were to try and solder them in place, they car WILL go up in flames
i want a basic cheap alarm, i dont like the look of the ebay ones with loads of stuff on them, just want basic.
what you think of this?

there both basicly the same alarm I fitted. but mine comes with a microwave sensor as well as the shock sensor. about the same price.
and mine look very simlar too

Simple. You don't wire all the remote start immobilser crap in
This unit come's with the main control box and 4 wiring looms, 2 of which are for remote start and immobilser, so simple don't wire them in and connect them all up
