Hello Fiat Fam,

I have a 94 ducato campervan.

Recently it has been having trouble on start up. It usually kicks over after the 2nd go and we leave it to warm up for 10minutes.

When we start moving though, it feels like its lagging power and is real kangeroo hoppy on the road. It seems to blow a lot more smoke as well.

It happened once when it was a cold morning, but the problem disappeared after about 10mins. The other time did the same thing, again disappearing after about 10mins, but after about 3hrs of driving, it started to do it again.

Now it only lagged the 2nd time when I went up and over a mountain range in Bosnia.

Do you think it could be something to do with the fuel temperature sensor or the fact the temperature dropped?

Or could it be fuel related? Bosnia isn't known for the best quality diesel.

It's recently had a service and all filters changed.

Any info would be great!

Thanks

Cold starts can have smoke, especially with older Diesel engines. But to when you were going up the mountain rage that might have been lack of oxygen. Idk the altitude you were at, but if you went to a height that would have less oxygen you could see a too rich mixture. Which will cause it to smoke.
