Technical Do I need a 'key' for sump plug removal

Do I need a special sump key to remove the plug in my 500TA or is it a regular hex bolt?

18mm AF hex. Use a good quality single hex socket/breaker bar as the head of a ratchet won't fit in the recess that the plug sits in. The sump plug is as soft as cheese, so don't over tighten or it'll shear.

I did it today. It's a 17mm AF Hex not an 18mm on mine.
I see what you mean about using breaker bar head, extension socket worked fine too.
