General Demister switch

Need some help. recently noticed that when i press the rear demister switch i hear a tick and noticed it wasnt clearing the screen. I had the relays out behind the fuses and all seems fine. seems to be working now (not really tested as its not that cold) but now ive noticed the demister switch light keeps flickering when travelling. Something loose? Fuse is fine. Although i have the tailgate plastic liner out is this causing it?

its possible you have a break in the loom to the tailgate that keeps making and breaking
or a faulty switch/relay/earthing issue
