I Want

Looks like they specialise in deep dish stuff

I see them on ebay from time too

You can use 4x100 with wobbly bolts. Make sure the centre bore matches your spigot ring or use and adaptor. Im sure you already know but it is the spigot ring that keeps the wheel in the right position on your hub.

Brian, why max 14inch rims? ,, my good lady's car's got 15s, and they dont fill the arches.

The Dallara kit will take 17s EASY.

Yeah.

15" is a good choice for Dallara kit.

I am ordering very very superlite custom wheels from US manufacturer
Keizer wheels.

Here is a pic. Looks a bit weird, but design is not my first concern rather than performance they should give, one rim is about 10.5 pounds which is about 4.7kg!
As for design, they look like chrome, shiny :)

hi...well i was gonna have like a 13" or 14" so the disk doesn't look out of shape.....and by having a bigger aspect ratio/profile i would fill the arch (y)

but cha40 where did you get them wheels from?

I still did not decide upon the wheels...

Those from Keizer are quoted to 1200$ and I also read many opinions that these wheels are so light that can easily bend or crack, its a bad thing for the roads that I have here.

Brae, do you know any other manufacturers apart of Minilite?

Brian, mate, them wheels (believe i or not) came from a mental looking Horman Kitted Mk1 Uno, that I unfortunately had to scrap.

The strange but lucky thing is, its like they were made for a modified x19, fit perfect on the hubs, no rubbing, no spacers, spot on.

They are proper fitting three piece reverse split rims, no name or number, any help in identification would be appreciated!!!

Ps, you should have grabbed them wheels from 'Nigel', problem solved. Oh and get some pics up off your progress so far. cha

Do not make the mistake of confusing lightness with weakness. Racing quality alloy wheels out of necessity have to be able to withstand forces, impacts and loadings that normal road wheels are not expected to withstand.

Any wheel can crack or buckle if hit hard enough but racing wheels are less likely to do so than "cheap" road wheels. Keizer wheels are split rim too so even if you do manage to buckle a wheel it is relatively cheap to fix (rather than throwing away the whole wheel). Your biggest problem is actually that the seals on the split rim will fail and they will need a rebuild periodically...

Many guys said that these wheels are not for street use.
They are strong, but weaker than wheels for street performance.
One guy said that wheel cracked when cornering... I can imagine waht will happen if it will hit a hole on 80kmh speed.

You cant imagine what kind of roads we have here. It feels like you are driving offroad all the time, everything is just humps and holes.

Does anyone knows about these guys?

I've been though this with a number of wheel manufacturers - race wheels are stronger than road wheels out of necessity.

Most road wheels are, for want of a better term, junk - they are made out of the cheapest materials and given the cheapest preparation in order to get them to a finished product.

Race wheels, in order to make them lighter, have to be made from better materials and go through a more expensive process.

The Keizer wheels go a step further and use a magnesium alloy.

If you roads are that bad that you are worried about wheels getting damaged I strongly recommend you restrict your shopping to rally spec wheels which have to take that kind of punishment and worse.

I've hit a deep, sharp edged pot hole with my CXRs at about 60kph, the wheel and tyre were undamaged but the suspension arm was bent. I've had steel wheels get bent from that sort of damage and I've had regular road alloys lose a chunk of metal from the same.

The reason why they can't advertise them for road use is that they are not subjected to the approval processes requisite for regular highway use. Such things cost extra money and push the price of the wheel up.

 i want them wheels....i was looking ages ago for them but couldn't found a name for them.....where can i buy them from and how much?

Cha40 i swear i sent you a PM saying " hi bud. i am choosing not to buy your exhuast as of my cherry bomb setup. cheers anyway Brian"

Brian,

I have been advised by Minilite WHeels that the lowest backspace they can make for 15x7 is 97mm and 100mm for 15x8, I reckon the same applies for 13" wheels.

But the backspace needed for Dallara kit is 80mm.
I'm looking to get best fit without any sapcers.

Did you find any other manufacturers?

http://www.imagewheels.co.uk/
http://www.superlite-wheels.com/

Both UK manufacturers and both make 3 piece wheels with any backspace/offset you need.

Superlite-wheels dont have wide range of designs available, wheels are 7.9kg, 276 gbp + VAT each.

Image Wheels have a very wide range of designs for cast wheels, didnt find out about the weight yet, around 220 gbp each (probably included VAT but Im not sure).

Keizer wheels got their wheels for aprox 4.7kg, that is more than 3kg less than Superlite-Wheels offer in their ultralite wheel range. And at nearly same price.
