Hi All
My son's 2011 Punto Evo Sporting 1.4 Multiair Turbo has developed a bunch of dashboard errors recently and we're getting nowhere fasy in resolving them.
It's always had an intermittent start/stop error from when we bought it 3 years ago, but after replacing the brake discs and pads on all four corners, we are seeing a raft of new errors, as follows:
ASR disconnected
ESP not available
Hill Holder not available
Check power steering
every now and then a check engine light/error pops up.
Fault codes from my multiecuscan laptop are:
Engine:
P181D-38 - gear lever position sensor (plausibility)
P1524-79 - Spark-plug anti-fouling function
ABS:
C0051-86 - Steering angle sensor (NGE)
Electric steering:
C1002-17 - Steering column motor torque position sensors
Dashboard (Instrument panel Marelli MY09):
U0019-87 - CAN line
So far we've replaced the battery for a new one and replaced the brake light switch (odd I know but I read somewhere, possibly on here, that a dodgy brake light switch can cause all kinds of issues with the affected systems)
The car drives fine with no strange steering behaviour, pulls cleanly and idles fine. when the hill holder error comes up that doesnt work on the car.
if I clear the errors, they may go away for 2 or 3 power cycles but will come back at some point.
We cant keep throwing cash at it blindly, so a couple of questions:
1) Anyone had similar or same symptoms and what did you do to resolve them?
2) Is there a trusted specialist folk would recommend in the NW Surrey/N Hants/Berkshire area (We're in Camberley)?
Thanks in advance for any pointers.
Tony
