I attempted to fit my new stereo last night, and after an hour or so of jiggling the wires around, finally managed to fit the bugger.
When I came to test the stereo - nothing - deader than a dead thing. Checked the fuse - OK. Removed the stereo - no power on the accessory line. Checked the wiring - all intacted (had not chafed). Then attemped to lock car with remote - nothing - though locked with key. Noted that interior light not working, turned ignition on & started car - none of the dashboard dials worked - although the lighting circuit worked.
So, as a result of a failed attempt to fit the stereo, the alarm, interior light, dashboard dials, & mileometer / trip meter now don't work.
I assume I've broke a connection behind the dashboard somewhere. Does anyone know which connection this could be, as I assume if I remove the clocks there'll be an awful lot of wiring. Also is it possible to remove the clocks / cowling without removibg the steering wheel?
