Styling dash build (well sort of)

Ive seen other modified cars which have ipads android tabs ect I was thinkin of maybe doin the same but a slot for my phone cause im sick of pickin it up while drivin to change tracks whats everyone's opinions on it? Btw i dont have a crap phone ive got a s3 which if I hacked the dash would have to stay forever when I get anoyhe phone (only downside)

Best bet is to install a seven inch touch screen. This can then be connected to most computers or devices so you can upgrade without having to rearrange the dash.

I'm planning on building a media computer out of a Raspberry Pi and doing this, will cost less than £100 hopefully.

Using your phone in the way you described is also illegal.

It did have but ive swapped it for an aftermarket unit. I no its illegal but I need to switch tracks haha and I was gonna go down the 7inch route but id have to relocate some items which could be a pain

For the car I have a little £20 Sansa Clip+, fantastic sound quality, 32gb MicroSD, and nice physical buttons for skipping. And being so cheap I just leave it in there all the time, I'd recommend one whole heartily, and saves butchering your dash if all you want is music. I've actually velcro'ed it to the dash which works wonders

Or just buy the steering controls adaptor for your new headunit and control it from the steering wheel?

I have a dash mount for my phone, it clips onto the vent just above the radio and cradles my phone, works very well and allows for easy control of my phone whilst driving, its basically the same as operating the radio itself.

im planning a 7" tablet install in the near future.. i think its a great idea i just wouldnt do it with a galaxy s3. in fact i wouldnt do it with a phone tbh

I think atm ill either get a mp3 player or one of them mounts which Didge3 has got am in no rush atm to build it as for the adaptor ill give that a miss as I hardly use them
