Hi All. I've just completed my major servicing and requested the local Fiat specialised workshop to check on this - they said everything is fine.

Thing is..everytime (or at least 70% of the time) when getting in and out of the passenger side (or simply stepping on the door sill area), there will be creaking sound coming from the rear suspension area. Driving does not invoke this sound unless with the spare tyre loaded into the compartment.

Any ideas on which mountings to check or lubricate myself? I don't think its my absorber as they are free from leaks and pretty new Koni Sport ones.

Thanks, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hi Andydiver. Thanks. It really seemed to be the drum brakes are the culprit.

Now I gotta return and hunt for the clanking sound from the rear while driving under load...

Jack the back end up and axle stand the car

unclip abs cables 2x from cable support (to get a bit extra cable free)

place jack under rear axle beam to take the weight

remove 2x lower shock bolts (e torx)

lower beam slowly via jack until both springs are free

remove springs and rubber spring pads (one top and one bottom of each spring)

clean the rubbers up in hot soapy water and contact parts on chassis and rear beam

smear contact parts where the rubbers touch the car / beam in silicone grease

put back together ...... ((took me ages to find this was the issue on mine))
