I hate the way the gsr goes from a tiny bob to a huge filter. I had a custom build that did the same job but looked awful. Mine is a lot cleaner looking, and is totally unique!

interesting viewpoint, how exactly would you suggest it is improved?

and is this purely for aesthetics or do you know something we don't?

the 'bob' fits perfectly to the throttle body because it is an original part designed to fit perfectly

I understand that gsr made it that way for a reason, and I know it can speed up the airflow, but it it's not to my taste thats all. we were running a similar set up, except with a shrouded filter, and Now that I've got the cold air feed sorted to my current set up the car feels more responsive.

I've now:

Cut out the plastic under the bonnet lip and replaced with mesh,
Attached a duct to the mesh and a large diameter cold air pipe to that,
I've put a heat resistant panel over the exhaust manifold and from the base of the filter across the rocker cover.

the crank breather exits to the back of the bay with a large diameter pipe and filter.
