Hi guys, my clutch needs adjustment, I can barely get into gear even if I press on the pedal real hard. How do I adjust the cable? Should I "shorten" or "lengthen" the conduit to fix it?
My guess is... lengthen. I think... Or... I don't know. ;-P
Nope - it is a cable and I am 100% certain as I had to replace the whole box some three years ago. Remember - it is a '97 SX for EE market.
So... clockwise (shorten) or vice versa?
My Bravo 1.8 judders as you pull away in 1st, and the biting point feels real high, is this a sign of my clutch going? the juddering only happens in 1st...
any ideas on whats going on guys? :chin:
full clutch kit fitted is about 200 - 250 here in london
in that case you need to shortern the cable.
yes, you paid double.did they see me coming? haha :bang:
Tomasso said:I've shortened the cable by some 10-15 turns of the nut and now the clutch disengages somewhere below halfway of the pedal's travel and engages pretty high, I'd say 2/3 from the floor.
Plus, the pedal is harder to press now, and the travel is uneven (less errr... refusal?? closer to the floor). Can it stay like this or should be corrected?
its hard to say, but i wouldnt be surprised if the rubber washer was used to stop the adjuster slipping.Tomasso said:Also - I have found a torn 5mm thick rubber washer (as shown in the pic) resting on the box - does it belong to the cable? Can it be the cause why the cable got too loose? I'd say so but am not 100% sure.
If so, where exactly does it go? I'll get a new one, fit it and adjust the clutch again.
the only brava/o to come with a cable clutch was the 1.4
that is fine (how it should be)
its hard to say, but i wouldnt be surprised if the rubber washer was used to stop the adjuster slipping.
yes, but tomasso has a foreign spec model that seems to have some differences to other european models.the 1.2 does have a hydraulic clutch doesn't it?
