Technical Check Power Steering

2012 X250 2.3 130 MultiJet Iveco engine. 69K miles.

I have had the ‘CHECK POWER STEERING’ warning and red power steering warning light not turning off a few times, after starting.
I have checked the fluid reservoir and it's at maximum level, the light goes off when I turn the engine off/on again, but may intermittently come back on.

I assume the warning light is related to fluid level? However, are there any electrical connections I need to check? Is there a float mechanism in the reservoir? I’ve checked the fluid level and it is good.

Any thoughts or suggestions please?
