H i all, long time no post as they say
you might or might not remember me from a few years back, i had a stilo abarth
which run on LPG,
well like all things a new baby meant i needed to get something more sensible,
so i picked up a cheap Stilo 1.6 estate, which i've had for a few years now and
has actually been a great runner with no problems at all Untill...........
last week i went out as usual to statrt the rat race to work and the battery was dead
flat,
i took the battery out and charged it up overnight and the next day connected it all back up to find it beeping Car Security Failure Loose Connection - the orange car/padlock symbol stays on and it doesnt fire up although the starter spins fast
i had noticed the fuse box cover wasnt in place and it had been raining heavy
a few days before so i thought it might be a short or wet connections somewhere
so i totally stripped the fuse box and cleaned and dried it before reasembleing it
i also cleaned and dried out the D4 connector
i could hear the fuel pump priming so i took off the pressure fitting at the top left of the engine bay to see if i had fuel and that was fine,
i took out the spark plug and turned the engine over to see if i had a spark and i Didnt,
this might be how the imbobilizer works i supose but i replaced the crank sensor
anyway, and cleaned up all the connections under and arround the starter motor
while i was under there,
this still didnt work to i bit the bullit and took it to Fiat,
they reprogrammed my key which did nothing but cost me £80
and then they charged me £40 to send away to fiat for my alarm code which they
re programmed or something which again did nothing,
they than said it would be a further £200 for them to investigate further so i said
Sod that and quickly took it out of the garage £120 lighter and no further forward,
does anyone have any experience with this problem , or suggest what to check next
as taking back to fiat would be crazy
Many Thanks
Paul
