Technical Can I fit an exterior temperature sensor?

My vehicle is a 2011 X250. I noticed one day scrolling through the system, miles, mpg, etc. that it showed “exterior temperature” even though I don’t have that option.

Can I simply fit an exterior sensor, will there be some redundant wiring already in the loom? If yes, then please point me in the right direction.

Some sensors are fitted in the drivers mirror shell

Hi, As already been said if you look under the drivers door mirror if you see a small bulge that is the sensor.
