Insurance industry not bothered - they lose a few quid on this but then up OUR premiums to rake the cash back.

I note, the insurance industry did nothing about these people, they left it up to HMRC.

Until the insurance companies can't pass their losses onto the legitamate customers (as if that's going to happen) this will happen. However much the insurance companies lose they can get it back from their customers so nothing will ever change. They get screwed we pay more.

It's called 'ghost brokering' nothing new, has always been about. Now I can't see what the insurance companies are to blame for here.

Call me a cynic but it's infact the drivers fault. They're given paperwork for insurance, which will advise if you've been claim free or not and they have not resolved the issue when the information has been incorrect.

Obviously these ghost brokers have been acting fraudulently, and have been dealt with. The fact insurance companies haven't done this is probably due to a lack of evidence.
