General Airbag failure

I stupidly hit the steering wheel in my bravo 165 sport,lighting up the airbag failed message.got hit with £ 600 bill for new airbag control unit!!so please avoid blaming your car for other folks poor driving

just reset light, no need to buy whole new airbag

Tried three different reset places.trouble is the airbag ecu thinks is been in a crash and cannot be wiped via data port.only options are a new ecu,ecu from a non crashed scrapper or some mail order firms that claim to clear crash data.ive heard that these are not very reliable but for £35 must be worth a go.mot due 16 June so no time.best not to bang steering wheel

Please feel free to correct me,this is just my experience and not an expert view.im expecting local fiat stealer to simply switch off airbag lite and stiff me for 600. C u at miles from noware

Not hard at all,I'm a bit weedy.could have accidentally banged wheel harder getting in/out the car
