Technical 3rd gear whine

im doing a bit of research trying to figure out if the 3rd gear whine/whering is normal.
when driving in city i can hear a fain whiring/whine sound in 3rd gear, but i can not hear it in the other gears.

is this normal or am i looking at replacement or rebuilding soon?

No, it's NOT "normal" at all.
Those gearboxes are fairly cheap. You can buy used one (but younger/smaller mileage preferably).
Swap procedure is silly simple (check "Williams mobile clutch service" on YouTube, there are 2-3 Grande/EVOs).

Temporarily check/top up the oil or use some high mileage additive to slow down the catastrophic wear (to buy some time).

sadly here secondhand ones have bout the same milage or more. so getting one that is in better condition is hard.
plan to check up on it soon with the oil.
