Hello all,
I just tried to start my FIAT 2014 500L (82,500 mi / 132,770 km) and the engine did not turn over - no noise, nothing.
Up until yesterday, it was running just fine, no issues.
Two different dashboard messages appeared:
1- Manual Method not available,
2-Check transmission.
Weirdly, I'm now able to open and close the windows and turn the radio on/off without the key in the ignition.
Clearly the battery is fine; it's relatively new.
Oil has also been changed relatively recently.
Of note:
It's been very hot here lately, but NOT the first time for this car in high heat.
About a year ago, several times immediately upon starting the car, it would only go into Drive but not Reverse. After turning it off and waiting a short period of time, it would again function properly. It occurred about 3 times in the space of a month. I had it checked out, nothing was found to be wrong. No issues since, until nowe.
I really don't want to pay the only Fiat dealer/service place in town to tow it (and I can't even put it into Neutral - the shifter won't move) and do a useless diagnostic only to find nothing.
Any feedback greatly appreciated.
