Hi
R reg 2.0ltr Ulysse which we have owned for more than 5 years
A fantastic car which I did not want to take to the scrap
A couple of times the car would crank and not start as if it was out of fuel, always first thing in the morning, each time we put a gallon in and it then started,we assumed that the pump and or filter would need looking at.
On a journey the car faded as if it had a fuel issue but then picked up and was no more problem
Last week the car would not start after driving into the town after an hour it started, had a bit of smoke as if it was choked died and since then it will not start.
A guy came round with a diagnostic code reader and said that he could not get a connection from the reader to the ECU therefore the problem was with the ECU
Would you think his diagnosis is correct?
Are there any other checks I can do?
When running the engine is fantastic.
Thanks in advance for your help I would like to solve this problem
