Hi folks,
Can I please seek some advice…I have a power steering leak on this hose in the photos.
I have looked for a replacement hose but sure is this the low pressure side or high pressure side? The leaking hose is runner wrapped in material the other hose looks just plain rubber. It is the material wrapped hose that appears to be leaking from mid way along the pipe which seeps down to the clamp where it joins the bracket on the lower engine lower. Anyone got a link or a part number please? Also what is the other pipe for a return? Thanks in advance.
Jay

Generally speaking the material braided pipe is low pressure supply to the high pressure pump, often held with jubilee clips.
From the high pressure pump to the steering rack is usually metal pipe with special high pressure flexible hose with crimped joins to stand the pressure.
Often material braided rubber hose deteriorates behind the braided material unseen until it leaks, Vauxhalls used it a lot on their petrol lines in the past etc.

With older vehicles if original low or high pressure hoses are no longer available, often hydraulic hose companies that make replacements for diggers etc. can use your old one for a pattern, even using the old unions if an obscure type.
Try not to bend when removing as they can only match what you give them.;)

That's what I have done..
Quick and cheap also🙂.

I can link to the parts diagram.. Just be wary of 30 year old stock.. A modern pattern one should be OK 😉

SEARCH the quoted part number on ebay.. Or google

Check it suits Your Van 🤔
