Technical 1964 Fiat 500 Giardineria carb

Hi everyone!

Cameron here - I hope you are well.

We have a 1964 Fiat 500 Giardineria in South Africa.

The 500 is running rich and we are lost as to why it won’t start. We have tested spark which is perfect and the fuel pump works just fine.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to the standard setting for the idle mixture screw for a 500 Giardiniera 26 Weber carburetor?

The normal starting position is one and a half turns out from fully in. I would say however that if the engine is not firing at all then the mixture screw is not likely to be the cause, it is more for fine tuning.
