Technical 126EL Oil Pump in a 500R engine

Hello,

Needed a new oil pump for my 594cc engine...I had an old timing chain cover and pump from an 126 EL and thought I could just swap it. But the 126 EL timing chain cover looks slightly different with a "deeper" looking opening for the oil seal/crank shaft so guessing that won't work.

But would anyone know if the oil pump alone is compatible?

When I did the Nanni 540cc engine build that I documented here I encountered this compatibility problem as I fitter a timing chain cover & oil pump from a 650 126 but when I tightened the crankshaft nut it locked the crank. The problem was the crank pulley fouling the cover. This was solved by fitting the 126 pulley as well.

I'll get the right pulley and hopefully will solve the oil pressure issue. Thanks again!
