I'm a Punto owner 1242 8v and I've spent more time (and gained more assistance) regarding engine mods on this section than on the Punto side. Punto owners with the 1.2 1.1 engines generally tend to be less interested in the greasy bits and more interested body mods. The erm 'saner' people in this section tend to 'play' more with the engine 1.2 and 1.1. On the Punto section and certainly on PSC you'll tend to hear, don't bother buy a gt, yawn. Do a search under something you're interested in and follow your nose. May I suggest a Mkcritch chip in a 55 ecu (cost around £60) with the 866 (75cam) followed by a modified air filter? :yum: Leave the exhaust till last (unless yours falls off) and buy a supersprint cat back system. Mkcritch and cam will give, conservatively, 10bhp prob more. Air filter ? So many and tbh your looking at around 5hp from a gsr. Finally a supersprint exhaust, ssprint list 8bhp on the 16v 1.2 with their decat so reckon on half that for yours say an optimistic 4bhp. You've spent, you can research that, you'll gain around 20bhp making a 55 around 75 ish maybe. Oh and I've done all this and I fished most of the facts out on this section of the forum. And there's more, tb...nitro....421 exhaust, lots of fun!frenchwood said:I agree to an extent... but remember that any Cinq owner who has a 1200+ engine has already done a mass improvement... the guys in the Punt forums probably want "More" for the 1242 FIRE!!
