Has anyone experienced wind whistle from around the top back edge of the drivers door on a 3 door? Mine whistles a bit but the seals look ok and well fitted. The passenger side is quiet. Also, the clutch pedal creaks & sounds like a bit of a rachet mechanism noise (my best attempt at tech talk!). I've seen some posts on squeaks from the clutch pedal but wouldn't describe mine as a squeak.

Yes, I have the wind noise tho mines a 5d. Dash is developing rattles as well.

Thanks. The dealer told me that lube would help the clutch but described it as a characteristic "twang", not a fault as such.

I'll need to book it in for the wind noise as they reckon it shouldn't be there!

Had (nearly) no wind noise, no rattles from the dash and no clutch (Selespeed). Don't know if would have bothered asking my dealer if I had. In my experience dealers (not just Fiat) are crap at finding anything minor or anything not to do with a physical component!

You are so right Roja, but I believe and I guess others will back me up, FIAT dealers are crap, they make you despairso much that you just can't be bothered to go back with any issues you have so you end up accepting them, sad but true!

Had wind noise on Drivers side seal and have had the seal replaced. That cured it but it's back again.
SO i will go and give them grief again.

I get wind noise too - although in my case I have found a 'botch' cure to be to wind the window fully up, then very quickly press the down button so that the window goes down a fraction of an inch.

It reduces the noise quite a lot but still doesn't let draughts or water in (do it whilst you're doing about 60 to hear the difference). After a while you get into the habit of doing it each time you wind the window up.

Hello fellow Fiat lovers,

I too have had the same wind noise which seems to eminate from the front end of the drivers door, it sounds like an FM radio out of tune which gets louder and louder upto about 70MPH starting at about 45.

My fight with fiat has been going on for months, after they diagnosed the problem as the door alignment on this side. If you go and have a look at your door make sure the door when shut is NOT proud of wing and the top seal which folds into the door aperture is at least 3-5mm inside the aperature. FIAT have changed the door seal TWICE but this did not cured the problem. aligning the door has pushed the threshold of the noise up i.e it now starts at around 60mph so we are on the right road at least.

Now we are at this point the bodyshop mechanic now wants to change the inner seal just to eliminate it as a cause.

PLEASE MAKE SUR YOU HASSLE FIAT CUSTOMER SERVICES BECAUSE IF THEY GET ENOUGH COMPLAINTS THEY HAVE TO TAKE NOTE. DO NOT GET DIS_HEARTEND. FIATS ARE BEAUTIFUL CARS DON`T LET THE CRAP DEALERS RUIN YOUR DRIVING PLEASURE KICK UP A STINK!!!

The cause of the noise has been found on my stilo, it is coming from around the mirror. If you take a look at the side which is not giving you any problems you will see that the mirror presses into a seal, which almost appears to rest on the seal around the window. Well it is here at this point there is a problem the bottom part of the mirror appeared to be pressing onto a seal running behind not pressing onto the seal which should be proud, it looks like a tiny small,intentional crack which is at the bottom of the mirror housing.
We covered this part up with masking tape and followed the line as it should to the front seal, then took it out for a test drive. SILENCE up to 85mph (on a private test ground, OF COURSE)then the tape itself starts to oscillate but the noise it makes after this threshold is tiny in comparison to the noise it used to make at 40mph.
The seals have been ordered by fiat and will be replaced shortly, i hope this helps you all.!

ask your dealer to lubricate your clutch its a common problem so far after 4 months of lubricating it its tottaly fine

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a wind problem (oo-er...)

My 5dr whistles like buggery from the drivers door so a trip to Ball-acher is on the cards again...maybe they will be able to sort out the creaky rear end while they are at it (they couldn't find any problems last time but tightened everything up anyway!!)

right then boys and girls theres any easy cure for all these faults just pop to reg vardy stockton fiat they have the cure for both the wind noise and clutch pedal faults, and have done both in a couple of hours

I'll book the ferry tomorrow. Any chance of letting us know the cure?

I was fitting wind deflectors to my 5d today and may have found the source of my driver's side wind noise.
When putting the window up I noticed about the last 1"-1.5" of travel the rubber beading was going behind the window instead of in front of it. I tried to wedge it out a bit to see if I could sort it, that's when I noticed the window actually moves towards the front of the car on the last bit of travel and comes slightly out from the door.
I'll need to book it in and get it sorted.

Well. Reg Vardy fixed my wind problem (LOL) and the clutch, but said the clicking & creaking would probably come back. They managed to make the ESP, ASR & ABS pack up as they moved the brake pedal switch causing the car to think I was braking & accelerating at the same time. The brake lights were stuck on too

Clutch and gearstick squeak

Car ready after 3 hours, they have lubricated everything, clutch spring main culprit for creaking, and for gearstick squeak a ball in the actual lever, so sprayed down there too.

Under bonnet for good measure slave, and all gearbox parts you see that move are covered in white grease....both noises now not present but only drove 30 mins home!

Dealer said there is nothing else we can do for you now, with regards the creak or squeak. Everything that can be done has been inc the new clutch 2 weeks ago. Said they know the noises are annoying but they cannot do more to cure...basically don't come back for this!!
