Hello all,

I've recently changed my old engine and the computer with newer ones and the mechanic connected most of the components back. He said that all of them. However, when I turn on the AC knob, nothing happens. The LED turns on, but no changes in the air temperature or REVs happens. I don't really know how to diagnose if the AC is broken or it is a matter of connections. The AC worked perfectly on the previous engine/computer. Is there any way to check if it is a computer error or a connection. Did any of you go trough this?

Thank you! What do you mean by gassing? Freon refill? I was thinking about that, but isn't the AC system a standalone system and the compressor is the only component reacting with the engine?

When the engine was changed, the compressor would have been removed, so the pipes would have been disconnected after releasing the gas. As Artermis says, get the gas pressure checked.

The A/c pipes are made of fragile aluminium so could have been damaged during the engine change.

When you switch the A/c on, there should be an audible "click" as the compressor clutch engages. If you don't hear the "click" the wire to the electro-magnet that operates the clutch may not be connected.
