Hallo Stilo types - I'm having a sniff round a Multi Wagon... Can any of you chuck me some hints on what to look out for, pretty please? :)

It's a 1.9JTD (same as my Dob, but the higher output) with a manual box - year is 2003...

Looks pretty tidy on the web but I expect a few imperfections in the flesh - but I'm more worried about regular wear items and rot-spots.

Also, is it the same (gawd awful) hydraulic clutch as the Doblo?

Thanks in advance...

Couple of pics - looks like a bit of surface tin worm at the back - is that a regular feature with these..?

Thanks Davren - the galvanized body sounds like good news ...

... whats with the "all electric" steering... not sure I fancy a fly-by-wire FIAT

Its just electric assistance for the steering, How much is it and are you planning on long term ownership.
They are a good reliable car, Good engines and gear boxes. Electrics can be a tad temperamental. Don't expect it to be worth anything in a few years either.

No real horror stories, Just make sure its got a nice new powerful battery for one thing as they like their power. For the money they are comfy, relaxing drive and a good mile muncher.

"comfy, relaxing drive and a good mile muncher."

^ Exactly what I'm looking for.

The JTD lump is the finest in the world far as I'm concerned, so as long as everything else is fair to middling I'll be a happy bunny...

Check that all the electrics work, including the instrument console and the computer doodah. I might have been unlucky but consoles and me have had an emotional relationship.. :D

Otherwise, as above, the Stilo seems well made and not really any problems that some TLC can't sort out.

It may be worth cleaning out the inlet manifold, MAP and EGR valve when you can.. any overfill of oil tends to get into the manifold via the breather and clog up these three components. MAP if contaminated will give you flat boost.
