Hi all im having some problems with my stilo 1.6 16v dynamic.

i keep getting the warnings asr failure, car security and loose connection all at the same time and the engine shuts off this can happen when stationary or slowing down it has also only happened when it is wet/cold outside. any ideas where the problem is or how to fix this?

my local fiat dealer got back to me and he told me to spray WD40 on and around the fuse box as moisture may be causing the problems, has anyone else been told to do this before?

It's more likely to be water inside the engiune fuse box. Spraying WD40 on it won't cure that, the fuse box needs removing and dismantling to dry it out completely.

If you do not have a cover for the engine bay fuse board/battery then moisture will cause all sorts of electrical problems, may or may not be your cause of problems though if no cover is fitted moisture will cause short and burnt out circuit tracks on the fuse board layers it can be taken apart for inspection with details in the guides section , as above beat me to putting up link , but if you do not have a cover for the engine bay fuse board then expect problems , also a weak or failing battery will give electrical problems so worth getting some voltage readings or take somewhere to get battery/charging state checked.

Hi I had the exact same problem on my 1.6 stilo!
Make sure the battery terminals are on tight and as davren says clean the fusebox,not forgetting the 150 amp fuse on the positive battery terminal!
I did all the above and it hasn't cut out once since ��
