Hello!

So this is the problem: Got the clutch replaced and it works great. BUT... now the ABS kicks in when driving under 40 km/h (25 mph). The brake feels very hard and it shakes (same as when ABS is activated), but that means I cannot press the break hard enough to stop so in city driving it has given me some surprises.

When driving over 40 km/h everything works fine until speed drops back and the problem starts again.

Also when driving around 10-15 mins at around 80-100 km/h the ABS light comes up and while the light is on the ABS are apparently deactivated and everything works fine. Then after restarting the engine we go back to zero.
When driving for even longer time the EBD light appears as well and it says "Stop Engine"

Haven't been able to check error codes myself but the mechanics have changed some sensors but nothing yet.

So, do you have any idea what the problem could be? Notice that before the clutch job everything worked well and never had any similar issues before.

And also is there any way to safely deactivate the ABS system? Unplugging something or what?

Because I have a big trip next week and if the problem is not fixed before that I'll have to go anyway and would feel much more comfortable knowing that the system is off and not in the way.

Thank you!!

Car is 2003 JTD 115 hp

Hello!

I got this problem fixed so I'll post it here in case someone would have a similar issue.

The thing was that the magnetic rings in both front bearings where damaged so they had to be replaced. Apparently they went full Jeremy Clarkson with the hammer in there because I don't understand how they managed to damage both of them, but anyway... problem is solved and now I have better chances not to kill Santa's reindeers before Christmas :D

Cheers!
