General Stilo 1.9JTD Dynamic (adjustable clutch?)

Stilo 1.9JTD Dynamic on a 52 registration plate

Can anyone advise please?
Is the clutch on the above adjustable? I'm finding that recently I have to push the pedal to the floor to change gear. I read the other Stilo clutch threads but found no mention of the 1.9 JTD

No its self adjusting .. Could be you need to bleed it

nope its a hydraulic clutch , how old is the brake fluid in the reservoir that could be old and needing changed making the clutch peddle hard

The bleed nipple is on top of the gearbox just below the battery box.

If it's an 80BHP JTD, the nipple is on the clutch slave cylinder on top of the gearbox.

If it's a 115BHP JTD, the slave cylinder is inside the gearbox and the nipple protrudes from the top of the gearbox bell housing.

The bleed nipple for both type is not the conventional screw type. Do not attempt to unscrew the nipple or it will break off.

Thanx for the info. But, If you can't unscrew it, how do you bleed it? btw it's a 115BHP JTD

115BHP version is the photograph on the right above. To bleed it:

Fill the combined clutch/brake fluid resevoir and leave the cap loose.
Connect a pipe and container to the nipple to collect the old fluid.
Lift the clutch pipe retaining clip as shown in the photograph then withdraw the clutch pipe about 10mm only.
Fluid should bleed through the system by gravity.

Do not pump the clutch pedal, or the clutch pipe will be forced off of the internal slave cylinder connector pipe.
