Car wouldn't start on a cold ish morning. It's been fine a week but this morning, light and darkness sensor fail message and it wouldn't turn over without giving it gas for a few minutes and keeping trying.

I've been getting alarm failure, fog light failure and airbag ones, airbag fixed.

Could these odd sensor blips and the inability to start mean a duff battery. What battery does a 2.4 take...

Argghhhhhhhh stressed hoping it starts later, it's in works car park could kick it

I'm thinking that too, strange faults was turning but not firing obviously that needs a bit of a kick. Gonna try test it today

Also get alarm problem assume this could be dead siren as the little girl triggered alarm and it didn't scream help me, but that may be draining things

Mario had battery checked 60% IT showed. Err gave a oil pressure warning and light and darkness sensor faults shoeing. It's git oil, could this be the map or maf sensors

i'll be honest, the 2.4 isn't something I know much about, I just know that when the battery is getting to the end of its life they throw up all sorts of electrical fault codes, 60% should be ok but if you can I would throw a new one on just to be sure, its one of the things I try to change the mo I get a fresh car, along with the timing belt.

did you say it has a near full history???

the MAF and MAP are to do with Air-intake so doubt they would be causing your issues.

its more likely to be Crank, Cam or Oil Pressure sensors causing them issues.

Thanks mate, crank cam and oil all sound expensive, if someone doesn't turn up at fiat tomorrow they are going to ring me and check on comps for free,

get a WiFi ELM OBD2 reader off eBay and then get a copy of MultiECUscan so you can plug it in yourself and read the codes yourself, lets be honest, its a fiat so it will get a lot of use. the Free version is all you need I think.

Yeah ive been looking, its going fiat for a service ecu upgrade and codes read, but could all these faults point to faulty legs on the ecu, seen a repair on youtube - basically as its mounted over the block it heats up and slowly fails

So far today had oil pressure, light and darkness..

Fixed bonnet open, needed a good clean so it may just need the connectors cleaning all over, im hoping someone doesnt turn up at fiat in the morning so I can jib down

To be honest its cheaper than bmw and audi so not too bad, and they seem joyfully helpful

Ecu fuse box cleaning

The more I read about odd faults it either pints to battery, ecu or fuse box. My battery tested as 60% will that cause problems? Have any of you modded the ecu as per YouTube video where he resolders the points

After a full service it seems so much better. It's a bit lumpy when cold is this the selespeed issue or cos big engine etc. I tend to ease off its and it's like I'm on my first lesson with the kangaroo juice. It's too quick just to drive away on my street
