Hey guys my exhaust has been growling at me for the past few day to be honest I like the noise it's a very nice "RRRAAAAWWWW" noise (most people will probably hate it)

But anyways I like the sound but I know it's not normal so I had a look around all the car, engine was fine, exhaust well this...
Rear end,

The front bit is fine,

Right now where do I start? Do I get it welded together or do I just buy a new exhaust all together as there only like £70 for the hole thing pluses then I'd have fitting costs but would it be cheeper and better then welding?
I mean my current exhaust looks rusty and a bit beat, anyways I need to know this more then anything what will happen if I don't get this fixed? As I honestly can't afford it just yet...

Where is it broken???

I will assume its just in front of the Back Box, if this is the case then, its abit noisy lol, what you might find is that stood in traffic or stationary with the engine running it might develop a smell inside the cabin of exhaust fumes, this can get dangerous if sat long enough but on the move you shouldn't notice a difference.

Just go to an exhaust place like powerflow and get a quote for getting a straight pipe welded in if you like the sound mate, will prob be cheaper than a new system and they will take it back to where the pipe is good and then fit a SS pipe and bend it right so its sits nicely at the back with a nice tail pipe too, this is what I am going to do to mine at some point lol

You are spot on! it is the front of the back box!
and thank you i will ring around for some quotes in the morning and see what best price is i get i will get a new system when im better off with money but for the time being i will get it welded, will it fail a M.O.T how it is now? and if i get it welded will it pass a M.O.T?

it will fail as is, but if you get a pipe welded in like below, you will keep the sound you like and it will still pass its MOT. and it wont cost anymore than buying a full system and getting it fitted, in fact, it will prob be cheaper.

ill call garage tommorow and ask for a quote for both see whats cheeper but i love the noise so think ill just get a pipe like you said :)

You could fit it yourself. Two bolts at the cat and two for the rear section clamp where it meets the mid. The rest is just rubber mounts. Euro car parts shoud have good prices. Think i paid £27 for my back box and got the mid section on ebay for around £25. Order better gaskets though as the free ones they give you tend to be crap.

Will havin the exhaust how it is mess my engine up? As I got told it could stuff my engine components up? If so I'll get it fixed as I start work Tuesday! :D £100 a week though but has its bonuses :p
