Hi guys
im shocked, my brake caliper on the n/s rear had issues with the handbrake, the spring wasnt returning so eventually i was left with no handbrake when it kept adjusting. I released and lubricated it a number of times before i decided i would have to replace or rebuild the caliper.
Anyways,
last week looking on ebay i found a refurb caliper for £49.86 inc del.
I have always been skeptical with ebay until i saw it was a refurb (and not a chinese copy).
It turned up today.
Ive bought refurbs from euros before and they are excatly the same!
The refurb they have done is top notch, and they have not requested the old caliper. So i may look at stripping it myself to see what causes these things to knit up.
the company is carfactorsuk, other than it took a week to arrive im really really impressed.

have a look, they are 02 marked and bosch.

I also have used these guys . Excellent product . (I did have an initial problem as someone had switched a dud in one of their boxes, but they sorted it immediately and the good replacement was perfect.)
They have a local outlet (Bham) which was good to take back the old unit, which was the deal when I got mine.
At these prices its just not worth working on your own diy refurb in my opinion, as parts cost nearly half their selling price.

I had the same problem with the springs not returning.....replaced both rear calipers and both brake cables and still had the same problem. I greased the whole of the handbrake arm where the spring arm sits on and it worked. Done over 10k and still ok

glad it worked for you, but heavy grease will pick up grit and dust and cause the problem to re occur, you should really use a light oil that wont pick it up.
i replaced my handbrake cables a couple of years back and they are fine, the new caliper done the job and i have a handbrake again.
