I think they do a remap for it then there's the CDA & supersprint exhaust! (y) How far do you want to go with it? Welcome to the forum BTW!

Theres no remap for the 1.8; i asked some many places and the all come back with the same answer! They dont do a CDA for the 1.8 either just about the only air filter you can pick up for it is a K&N 57i; which isnt even listed anymore ive been told by a fews places! But if you go on the K&N website you can see its the same as used on the 1.6! You can get a supersprint exhaust or get a custom jobbie which have same sort of bhp increase; depends if you go for a backbox or a full system.. a back box just giving you a nice/deeper noise no real BHP increase maybe 1or2BHP if your lucky! But if you go for a full system anywere from 5-10BHP depending really?? an K&N induction kit a 1 or 2bhp maybe?!

or

they do a novitec supercharger taking the standard 133bhp to 182bhp but be prepared to pay quite a few Thousand pounds cant remeber how much it was off the top of me head!

Not true there are universal CDA kits available & the 1.8 is listed in the demon tweeks & carnoissuer catalogues! I believe it's the same kit as the JTD. (y) www.superchips.co.uk I believe they do an eprom chip for the 1.8(if it's the same engine out of the bravo/a)

thats intresting i cant see anything about the bravo/a 1.8?? But they do a chip for the barchetta 1.8 giving an 8bhp increase and a chip for the 1.8 tipo giving an 12bhp increase are these engines the same as the stilo?? or does it no matter if the engines are the same its to do with the ecu? woohoo there is an actual dealer in my city! :D ill have to check this out and get back to ya... 133 + 12 = 145 with airfilter and exhaust... umm around 150BHP umm...tempting :D ill have to give em a ring and see if its possible!

EDIT: Looked on Bmc website and on demon tweeks for the bmc cda and they only do replacemnt filters for the 1.8 and the cda is for 1.6 and 2.4 and the universal 1 is only recommend for 1600cc!!

EDIT: My wrong the universal is for engine size of a 1600cc or over; just need to know the outlet size either 70mm or 85mm anybody know??

ok so can the ecu thing be done on the 1.8? i might be buying it so i'd like to know

and what's better? a remapped 1.6 or a standard 1.8?

Chip, exhaust and cold-air intake. Since the engine already produces over 140 HP in stock trim, this should get you to 160 BHP. Add some coil-overs and better brake pads, keep the 16" wheels and you´re set.

so few quick tips for make your 1.8 faster.. taking this thread from the past:)

I think that remap is in these days possible - many companies in our country offers remap (claiming 6-9kW increase...)

but better value of performance/money is modified AR 146 1.8/2l TS exhaust headers with downpipe and CAT replacing the exhaust silencer under the car.... then exhaust tubing with 55mm diameter ... next part from alfa 1.8/2L TS are cams - stilo 1.8 has cams used in AR 1.4/1.6... wich has 20° and by 0,5mm and 1,5mm lower timing/lift (parameters of AR 2ltr cams are simmilar to C&B fats road cams..)

these engines and gearboxes are like bigger LEGO, so you only need to know what components you need... the only difference between 1.8 in stilo and 1.8 TS in alfa is the head with 2 spark plugs and the cams (also the engine management system..)

with this modifications and further remap its possible to get 150-160BHP with almost no cost (cams cost me 30E, headers and downpipe 20E, exhaust mod with cat from 20VT coupe 80E) ... my stilo has now 165BHP with tis mods and remap by one company specialized for fiats, but I have also gasflowed head...and with shortened gearbox (I took stilo 1.8 and AR 147 1.6 88kW & 2L 110 gearboxes and mixed the components into one gearbox..)...

instead of the lovely sound of 2.4 ABARTH I don´t need to change my stilo:) for a reasonable price I got better performance than abarth with manual gearbox... now Iam looking for how to fit skywindow, because this one i only missing on my car...

wait, wait wait,..... i know the blocks are the same on the 1.8 stilo and the 1.8ts alfa engine... buti happen to have a 2.0 ts engine sat around here...

your saying the cams will fit straight in the stilo? timed up the same as standard and offer a quite good rise in power????

if so i may just have to do this

that said would a 2.0 t-spark engine not be a straight fit in the stio and able to run off the stilo ecu? or atleast the bottom ends swappable so i can have a 2.0 stilo?

you can directly fit TS cams to stilo and time them acc. to Alfa 2ltr TS locks - but keep stilo timing wheel...

the bottom end of 1.8 TS and 1.8 in stilo is the same..

for going 2ltr by swapping AR bottom end you have to change trigger wheel on crankshaft ... but I plan to make a bit difficulty way due to engine code and possible problems on our technical checks...

so I will put in 2Ltr cranshaft, (rods are the same, ) rebore the block to 83mm and fit 2ltr TS pistons... by this way you will get 2ltr stilo... and probably way faster than abarth.. the only challange could be the ecu remap....

if the bottom ends are the same surley you could just swap the sensors to the stilo ones. and the stilo bottom pulleys ect???

as i have one lying around wen the weather pics up i might have to give it ago.

the cams are defo ging in though. so i have to time them to the alfa recommendations?

found some fotos of "new" exhaust system:) as replacement for previous built from remains in the garage

headers: AR 2L TS EU 2 - you have to weld 2 M18x1,5 nuts for laba probe on the primaries and one behind the secondaries.

CAT : I´m using NO cat, so you have to add. Lambda sond adapter, or disable this in ECU

Pipe: 54mm Group N by Ragazzon for JTD

BAck box: Ulter sport for Stilo Abarth

CAMS: timed acc. to Alfa 2L TS locks, nothing else to do (You have to swap the Exhaust cams wheel, because of different pattern ofr phase sensor)... you can fint that the exhaust seem to be little restrictive for this mod, I feel that after 4500 the power delivery is similar to serial cams with std. exhaust, header (seem that headers with cat directly on engine are the main cause of problem)

2lt botom end: you have to swap crankshaft trigger wheel (cranshaft has to be removed from block to do this) and alls sensors... ad thats alll.. but its better to built it to the 1.8 rebored block, due to balance shafts, wich weight a lot...
