hi guys have done some research and found mixed answer, so does anyone know if alfa 147 seats are a straight swap into a 52 plate 3dr stilo? if modifications are needed then what do they involve?

thanks ed

I'm also started to research on this matter. Its not a straight swap, what i found, searching on FF, that you'll need to make few adjustments to the seat rails. Adapters to match few holes on seats and car floor.
And prob match airbag connectors, i read that alfa uses a bit different airbag connectors (might be wrong..)

Also 156 seats are a bit wider than 147. In case you were wondering if you could fit alfa 156 GTA seats (i would love those in my stilo).

One of FF members fitted alfa GT or GTV seats (can't remember which ones).

While someone else lurking on this thread, i want to ask a similar question, Are 3dr seats same as 5dr just with tilt option? Kinda wanted to research on alfa GT seats to fit my 5dr Stilo :p As you know alfa GT is 3dr. Sorry for hijacking a portion of your thread :)

Dax fitted 147 seats back when he was turbo'ing his Abarth...

anything can be made to fit with a little modification
but in modern cars we have the problem of airbags and complicated electronics
most alfa and fiat now have the airbag fitted into seat itself
also the airbag will be designed for each individual car or version (3 or 5 door)
and is it a "modification" that insurance need to know??
maybe best to wait for a set of stilo leather coming up on the net?

yeah thats the problem is the air bag etc :/ i would rather not use stilo seats as im not really a fan of the shape of them, think they look ugly :p

thanks for the help guys :)

Mark, that's not AR 147 seat. That's just aftermarket "racing look" seats. Those are without airbags and can be bought with custom seat rails for specific car.

Alessio, The point of using AR 147 seats in Stilo is that they are more common, and their airbags can be communicate with stilo ecu. So no error pop ups. Also i don't think that airbags are different from 3dr or 5dr models. (I wont argue on that, cuz i can't give 100% of my knowledge.)

Also FF member, Marshall147, had alfa romeo seats in stilo.

Yes using 147 seat is a safe bet as is still a fiat product and recognised by ecu
But alfa romeo 147 side airbag are designed for the 147 not the stilo
Unless someone can cross reference parts number and see if side airbag are same???
