Hi All,
So I've posted within a few other threads trying to resolve a few problems with my car, and no replies as of yet, so one last proverbial throw of the dice before I call time on this love/hate relationship with the car.
So the car has previously stood on the driveway for 4 weeks, and although it started okay, the dash was dead, everything else was okay, but the dash itself wasn't having anything.
I checked, cleaned and replaced the 2 10 amp fuses that relate to the instrument cluster, and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree, errors, warnings the lot. It was late so pulled the fuses and left it till the next day.
Now dash is completely dead, but both clusters at the rear are now not working (reverse still works, but indicators, brake lights, rear fogs) and the internal courtesy lights don't work.
I carefully drive the car over to my local mechanic, and he checks out all the fuses, connections etc. He suspects its either a faulty dash cluster, or the body computer.
So get to today and I've taken out the fuse panel and the BC. Stripped both down as much as possible and given it a thorough going over with pcb/ contact cleaner. refitted it all, and I've managed to get my lighting issues resolved, but the function on the dash isn't all there. I've got mileage in KM, but approximately right, and the clock flashes, but the instruments are still not working.
SO what am I likely to be suffering with?
1 - Faulty cluster, in which case is it possible to reduce mileage as I'm unlikely to find a clock that near my own mileage
2 - Faulty Body computer, in which case - what do I need to swap over from a donor car to make sure mine works? I'm assuming its not as simple as just swapping over the body computer circuitry
Any and all help appreciated guys..
