Hi All,

So I've posted within a few other threads trying to resolve a few problems with my car, and no replies as of yet, so one last proverbial throw of the dice before I call time on this love/hate relationship with the car.

So the car has previously stood on the driveway for 4 weeks, and although it started okay, the dash was dead, everything else was okay, but the dash itself wasn't having anything.

I checked, cleaned and replaced the 2 10 amp fuses that relate to the instrument cluster, and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree, errors, warnings the lot. It was late so pulled the fuses and left it till the next day.

Now dash is completely dead, but both clusters at the rear are now not working (reverse still works, but indicators, brake lights, rear fogs) and the internal courtesy lights don't work.

I carefully drive the car over to my local mechanic, and he checks out all the fuses, connections etc. He suspects its either a faulty dash cluster, or the body computer.

So get to today and I've taken out the fuse panel and the BC. Stripped both down as much as possible and given it a thorough going over with pcb/ contact cleaner. refitted it all, and I've managed to get my lighting issues resolved, but the function on the dash isn't all there. I've got mileage in KM, but approximately right, and the clock flashes, but the instruments are still not working.

SO what am I likely to be suffering with?
1 - Faulty cluster, in which case is it possible to reduce mileage as I'm unlikely to find a clock that near my own mileage
2 - Faulty Body computer, in which case - what do I need to swap over from a donor car to make sure mine works? I'm assuming its not as simple as just swapping over the body computer circuitry

Any and all help appreciated guys..

Hi All,

The previous threads you've posted on all have replies. The last one you posted on yesterday had 9 replies, the previous one had 80 replies. Prior to that, your posts were about the electric roof and heater control panel.

If you choose to post on someone elses thread, then you need to read all the posts prior to your post on those threads. Also, making multiple posts about the same subject on various threads, annoys some people, so you are less likely to get an answer.

Hi Davren

RE the repeated posts. I seem to have killed off threads having posted onto them, so I thought it easier to try and lump all the problems together i.e. no one seems to be replying to my specific post. I'm honestly not trying to make people repost...

The one thread that was the most helpful was the one on the JTD project, which i've contacted the OP about, but not sure if that a response is likely to come any time soon...

Hi,
not sure where you've posted but this is the 1st I've seen,

has all this come on suddenly.. or did you buy the car in a similar state..??

all info helps here,

not throwing up ANY error codes..??

Charlie - I've posted within other threads, but seem to have killed the tread after posting.

I've had the car from new. I've got a sneaking suspicion that its mainly due to the car having issues with moisture after the sunroof packed up earlier this year. I'm assuming that some of the moisture has gotten into the cluster or body computer and done something funny.

I've not been able to successfully hook the car up to the examiner software, so will once I've got the car back at mine with the cables etc, i'll try again.

Thanks!

Hi all,

So after watching Toure throw away 2 points I have now swapped my cluster over, joy of joys the displays are all live. I've still got to look at proxy alignment (I've got the cables but no laptop at the moment)

I know there are lots of posts related to this, but can anyone point me to a really basic step by step guide on
1. Checking the mileage on the BC
2. Increasing the mileage on the cluster to match the BC?

Any and all help appreciated.
