Last night I sold my Stilo. It sold in less than 24 hours which kinda suggests to me I may have sold it a little too cheap
It's never once failed to start or ever broken down in all 8+ years of ownership and rates as the most reliable car I've ever owned (in a list that includes VW) and by a long margin too.
It also rates top in performance and economy (in fairness it was the first diesel I owned so I guess the 'economy' goes without saying). I've owned some sporty cars in my time but nothing else has matched it for it's formidable ability to get from A to B as quickly as possible  Part of this was being able to take corners as such consistently high speed and yet still maintain stability. A certain Italian driving style needed to be learnt here though. Drive on the accelerator and the Stilo is superb but drive on the brakes and it's dire
As a practical car it rates top too. The rear sliding seats is a brilliant idea and allows masses of stuff to be taken on holiday (you just compress it all in the rear).
Something of a sad moment as I'm sure I'll miss the Stilo in the coming weeks especially knowing the car was was still in top form and had plenty of life left.
So what replaces it?
Well, I kept to the Fiat family and now drive an Alfa Giulietta Lusso 1.6 JTDM-2 (which a bit like the Stilo, also has a panoramic sunroof)
