Hi I have a 2003 fiat stilo jtd estate and I need to remove the rear seats so I can fit an over sized item in the back the problem is my rear seats have airbags fitted, will it be ok to disconnect the battery wait half hour and then unplug them and remove the seats or will it cause the other airbags to activate randomly

turn ignition off and take them out no need to drop the battery off it. its only really the squibs you have to be super carefull with. and even then theyre pretty robust. you have to feed the pins with 12v to activate them. so static spikes could in theory set them off but im yet to see one accidentally set off.

if your dealing with the squibs directly then i would disconnect the battery other than that ign off is usually enough!

What do you mean by squibs?

O right no I was literally thinking of unbolting the seats and unplugging the 2 orange connections, will that be ok?
